Case Study - Manufacturer’s Financial Reporting

The Challenge: A defense contractor required a financial database solution for its five manufacturing plants to replace a system which managed accounting information across its business units. The new system needed to integrate with Microsoft Dynamics, including a new process for accounting’s month-end close and new reports to show sales and profitability of products across business units and production facilities.

The Solution: A new process was engineered to manage financial data in a centralized data warehouse integrated with Microsoft’s Dynamics. A financial dashboard was developed that reported sales and profitability of orders across the enterprise.

Results: Plant Managers and corporate executives were able to access timely reports and critical performance metrics using the new financial reporting dashboard. The time required to process “month-end close” for the accounting department was reduced by over 300%.
