Network Administrator

Join our team and support the delivery of world-class Internet services.

As a Network Administrator, you will manage systems, respond to client requests, identify and address client needs, maintain and repair servers, printers, and workstations, and their applications and operating systems. Resolve equipment and application related problems, questions, and issues.

As a part of AJBoggs’ network support team (IXN), you will support clients in local businesses as well as those serviced by our data centers in Flint and London, Ontario. You will support online, Internet, VPN, and intranet services of the firm and its clients; implement designs and support distributed networks; help build servers, configure application and operating system software, and help develop websites.

Most work is performed in the Lansing area. Must be experienced with HTML, databases, firewalls, email, UNIX and Windows platforms, and enjoy learning new technologies. Periodic Travel and 24 hour call required. Our team is dedicated to providing superior service to our customers.

Senior Network Administrator

Develop and manage complex computer networking solutions in local and Internet environments. As a Senior Systems Administrator you will direct technical staff, develop work plans, obtain client requirements and approvals, manage vendors, write proposals, develop designs, create procedures, and build high-performance teams.

The ideal candidate will be an expert in the following technologies:
UNIX and Windows Servers in networked environment, Terminal Services, Active Directory Domains, DNS (Windows and BIND), Exchange 2007, SQL Server backup and recovery data management, IIS, Windows Routing and Remote Access (RRAS), advanced Apache and Sendmail configurations, PowerShell and UNIX shell scripting, MySQL, SpamAssasin, ClamAV, Rsync, OpenVPN, Squid, and SquidGuard, Cisco, SonicWall and UNIX based routers implementing transparent bridging and/or NAT with IPFirewall, Managed and Unmanaged switching equipment, VLANs, and out of band server management.

Understanding and ability to implement the following protocols on UNIX and Windows Servers is a must: FTP/SFTP, SSH, SNMP, POP3/POP3S, IMAP/IMAPS, SMTP/SMTPS, DHCP, PPTP, IPSec, & HTTP/HTTPS.

Knowledge of T-SQL/SQL, HTML, CSS, ASP.NET, PHP, Website and Graphic Design, Java, ITIL, and PMBOK is a plus.

Job duties include:
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical problems and solutions and accurately estimate resource requirements.
  • Exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to create effective procedures and improve processes by suggesting, testing, and monitoring process improvements.
  • Shared 24-hour emergency call (onsite and remote).
  • Periodic travel in the USA and Canada is required.
  • Diagnose and maintain complex electronic messaging and IT networking systems with an understanding of the relationships and dependencies between various infrastructure improvements, such as server consolidation, telecommunication and security constraints, desktop standards, and messaging systems.

Software Developer (Ann Arbor and East Lansing, Michigan)

Seeking determined and innovative technical staff to contribute to software development and web services development projects. You will work independently or on a team doing systems development, implementation, network administration, and operations support.

As a member of our team, you will help sell and promote awareness of our team and services.   In addition, you will perform administrative duties, including writing letters, reports, and proposals; filing; and systems administration. At times, you will support end users, manage and repair equipment, and procure and administer systems.

Work independently or as a project team member on systems development, implementation, network administration, and process improvement. Gather requirements, lead RAD sessions, develop system designs, test systems, manage system configurations, evaluate IT strategies, control source code, follow and develop procedures for high quality software development.

Requires website development, data modeling, software engineering, system administration, and database design skills. Will help to develop information systems strategies and gather systems requirements. The right candidate will be skilled with the following technologies: .NET (C#, ASP, or VB), SQL Server, HTML, Unix/Linux/BSD, Windows administration, Oracle and Javascript...Familiarity with project management, use cases/requirements gathering, DNS, Apache, UML, C/C++, Java, Perl, windows administration, sales, and/or CMM is a plus.

Administrative Assistant (East Lansing, MI)
