Software Developer - East Lansing, MI
Senior Network Administrator - East Lansing, MI

Software Developer (East Lansing, Michigan)

Seeking a determined and innovative developer to contribute to software development and web services projects. You will work independently or on a team doing systems development, implementation, and client/operations support.

Gather requirements, lead RAD sessions, evaluate information systems strategies, develop system designs, code and test software, helping to develop high quality products.

Requires website development, data modeling, software engineering, and database design skills. The right candidate will be skilled with the following technologies: .NET (C#, ASP, or VB), SQL, HTML, javascript, and Internet protocols. Familiarity with project management, use cases, requirements analysis, DNS, Apache, UML, C/C++, Java, network administration, sales, and/or CMM is a plus.

Hours flexible (part-time or full-time arrangements available).

Senior Network Administrator (East Lansing, Michigan)

Develop and manage complex computer networking solutions. As a Senior Network Administrator, you will gather client requirements, develop plans and designs, and manage network services for local and Internet-based systems.

Requires competence managing UNIX and Windows Servers, including experience with the following protocols: FTP/SFTP, SSH, SNMP, POP3/POP3S, IMAP/IMAPS, SMTP/SMTPS, DHCP, PPTP, IPSec, and HTTP/HTTPS,

The ideal candidate will also have demonstrated experience with the following technologies:

DNS (Windows and BIND)

VPNs

IIS and advanced Apache

Sendmail configurations and MS Exchange administration

SQL Server and MySQL configuration, backup, and recovery data management

Active Directory

PowerShell and Unix shell scripting

Cisco and UNIX based routers

Knowledge of SpamAssasin, OpenVPN, Rsync, implementing transparent bridging and/or NAT with IPFirewall, Squid, website and graphic design, SQL, HTML, CSS, .NET, PHP, Java or ITIL is a plus.

Job duties include:

Diagnose and maintain complex electronic messaging and IT networking systems with an understanding of the relationships and dependencies between various infrastructure improvements, such as server consolidation, telecommunication and security constraints, desktop standards, and messaging systems

Effectively communicate technical problems and solutions and accurately estimate resource requirements

Provide exceptional customer service both to clients and internal staff

Create effective procedures and improve processes by suggesting, testing, and monitoring process improvements

Excellent problem solving skills

Shared 24-hour emergency call (onsite and remote)

Periodic travel in the USA and Canada

Position in East Lansing, Michigan.
